Linsky Elected Obama Delegate to Democratic National Convention
Rep. David P. Linsky (D-Natick) was elected today to a seat as a delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in August in Denver, Colorado. Linsky was elected as a delegate pledged to Senator Barack Obama (D-Illinois), who currently leads in pledged delegates for nomination as President of the United States.
Linsky was elected by the Massachusetts Democratic State Committee which met in Dorchester. Linsky was the first member of the Massachusetts State Legislature to endorse Senator Obama for President, over 1 ˝ years ago. He serves on the New England Obama for President Steering Committee and has volunteered for the Obama campaign in three states this year.
“I am honored to serve as a delegate for Obama,” said Linsky. “Senator Obama will truly bring change to America, and his message has inspired millions of Americans. He will be a President for all of America and I am deeply touched by the support of the Democratic Party in Massachusetts.”
Linsky has served as a State Representative since 1999. He represents Natick, Sherborn and Millis. This is his first election as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention.
